  • UCB launches Neupro transdermal patch

    ATLANTA — UCB has launched a new drug for treating Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome, the company said Monday.

    The Belgian drug maker announced the launch of Neupro (rotigotine) transdermal system, which the Food and Drug Administration approved in April. The drug is a once-daily patch that provides continuous delivery of rotigotine, a dopamine agonist, over 24 hours.

  • Kimberly-Clark expands Poise portfolio with line for menopausal women

    DALLAS — Kimberly-Clark has launched a line of consumer products specifically designed with menopausal women in mind.

    Poise Feminine Wellness represents the Poise brand's expansion into the feminine wellness category in the United States and Canada, following a rollout in parts of Latin America, Kimberly-Clark said. The line features five products designed to work naturally with a woman's body during menopause, including: roll-on cooling gel; body cooling towelettes; personal lubricant; panty fresheners and feminine wash.

  • FDA approves generic emergency contraceptive

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic contraceptive made by Watson Pharmaceuticals, the drug maker said Friday.

    Watson announced the approval of Next Choice One Dose (levonorgestrel) tablets in the 1.5-mg strength. The drug is an emergency contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy following unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.

    The drug is a generic version of Teva Women's Health's Plan B One-Step, which had sales of about $88 million during the 12-month period ended in March, according to IMS Health.

    NEW YORK — A federal judge has ruled in favor of pharmacy technology manufacturer Innovation Associates in a 6-year-old case brought by ScriptPro concerning a component of one of Innovation's dispensing robots, the companies said.

    Dubbed the Winter Grab Bag, Mike's Hard Lemonade said the 12-count variety pack, which features 11.2-oz. glass bottles, will include winter blackberry, cranberry lemonade, as well as a brand new flavor, hard chocolate cherry, which only will be available in the limited-time variety pack.
