  • Orabrush taps former Sony Online Entertainment exec to serve as CTO

    OREM, Utah — Orabrush, a maker of oral care products, has appointed Brent Rambo, a former executive at Sony Online Entertainment, as the company’s chief technology officer.

    In this newly created position, Rambo will lead a new ad-technology division to develop new proprietary processes and systems for the company to maximize and scale its YouTube advertising and marketing model.

  • Oral-B launches oral care app for children to help increase brushing time

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble’s Oral-B has announced the launch of an oral care app for children — the Disney Magic Timer App by Oral-B.

    Created in collaboration with Disney and powered by DreamPlay, the oral care app is designed to helps kids increase brushing time, which is identified by dentists as an area of concern and improvement for children.

  • Colgate launches new Optic White Toothbrush + Whitening Pen duo

    NEW YORK — Colgate-Palmolive has introduced its new Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Whitening Pen — the first-ever toothbrush with a built-in whitening pen.  

    The new Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Whitening Pen is aimed to provide a convenient, affordable way to achieve high-impact teeth whitening at home, with whiter teeth in two days, the company stated.

  • Report: P&G develops smartphone-enabled toothbrush

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble has reportedly developed the first smartphone-connected toothbrush to give consumers personalized advice for better oral health, according to a Reuters report.

    The toothbrush, which is slated to launch in June under the Oral-B brand, was unveiled during the Mobile World Congress last week in Barcelona, Reuters reported.

  • Dr. Fresh's Firefly, Oral Health America team up to improve children's oral care

    BUENA PARK, Calif. — Dr. Fresh announced a partnership between its Firefly kids toothbrush brand and Oral Health America to promote regular brushing through accessibility and fun while benefiting OHA's Smiles Across America program.  

    As part of the partnership, Firefly will donate thousands of its signature Firefly Light-Up Timer toothbrushes to at-risk children, and will make a monetary donation to help broaden access to school-based dental services offered by SAA partners.

  • P&G to help set up dental clinics to support Olympic athletes, coaches

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble has announced that Oral-B, Blend-a-Med and Crest are setting up dental clinics in each of the three Olympic Winter Games villages to provide dental screenings, routine dental care, emergency care and products for athletes and coaches for the duration of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

  • Colgate posts Q4 results

    NEW YORK — Colgate announced on Thursday that it ended the year with a quarter of “strong growth on both top and bottom lines.”

    Net sales for the quarter totaled $4.36 billion, up 2% compared with the year-ago period. Organic sales grew 6.5%.

    Net income, which included after tax charges related to its 2012 restructuring program, totaled $564 million during the quarter or 60 cents per diluted share. Excluding the items, net income in the fourth quarter was $697 million or 75 cents per diluted share.
