    COSTA MESA, Calif. — The U.S. pharmacy industry, perennially one of the highest-scoring industries measured by J.D. Power, experienced notable declines in overall customer satisfaction this year, the research firm reported Tuesday. According to the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Pharmacy Study, decreases in satisfaction with both brick-and-mortar and mail order pharmacies were driven primarily by declines in satisfaction with cost.

  • Kroger names new Michigan division president

    CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday announced the retirement of Michigan division president Jayne Homco, and the promotion of Scott Hays to succeed her. Hays currently serves as VP operations for the company's Fry's division.

    Homco will retire from the company after 42 years of distinguished service, effective Sept. 30. Hays succeeds Homco as president of the Michigan division, effective Oct. 1.

  • Costco Wholesale U.S. comp sales up 7.4% in August

    ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Costco Wholesale Wednesday evening reported net sales of $9.8 billion for the month of August, the four weeks ended Aug. 27, an increase of 10% as compared to the similar period last year.

    Comparable sales in the U.S. market were up 7.4% for the four-week period.

    In addition, comparable e-commerce sales across all global markets for the four-week retail period were up 26%.
