  • Fred’s sees 4.5% Q3 sales decline, suspends guidance for second-half of 2016

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fred’s on Thursday released its sales results for the fiscal month of October, as well as its Q3 and year-to-date sales results for the period ended Oct. 29. The company has also made the decision to suspend its previously issued guidance for the second half of 2016 and announced the date it would be releasing November sales and third quarter financial. 
     
  • Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. to sell remaining stake in Walgreens Boots Alliance

    DEERFIELD, Ill. – Walgreens Boots Alliance on Tuesday announced that affiliates of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. intend to offer approximately 20.5 million shares of the company's common stock for sale in an underwritten secondary offering pursuant to the shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Feb. 17, 2016.
     

  • Canadian health and beauty retailer to open stores in U.S.

    A retailer that specializes in natural, plant-based wellness and beauty products is hoping to make a big splash in the United States.

    Saje Natural Wellness will open its first U.S. store at the end of November, in Malibu, California, with plans to open 25 additional locations in 2017. The company’s stores are designed to offer a sensorial and educational experience, allowing engagment with the products on display.

    The Vancouver-based retailer is also launching a new web site that will allow it to sell direct to U.S.-based customers.

  • Albertsons names new VP communications, public affairs

    BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons Co. has named a new VP communications and public affairs. The company on Wednesday named Christine Wilcox, who has been the company’s VP corporate communications, to the position, filling a vacancy left by the retirement of Brian Dowling. 
     
  • H-E-B exclusive brand TexaClear acquires VanaPain liquid pain relievers

    ARLINGTON, Texas - The H-E-B exclusive brand TexaClear on Wednesday expanded into two SKUs of liquid pain relief with the acquired formulas formerly known as VanaPain.

    The new branding is complemented by a new and improved taste while still providing the same fast acting, liquid relief for both daytime and nighttime pains, GM Pharmaceuticals announced.
