    ARLINGTON, Va. - The National Association of Chain Drug Stores, in partnership with the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin, on Wednesday announced plans to move forward with a new practice model to improve patient access to quality and efficient care, and advance pharmacy in a broader healthcare setting.

  • Weis Markets names new chief information officer

    SUNBURY, Pa.  – Weis Markets on Tuesday announced that Gregory Zeh, Jr. has joined the company as VP and chief information officer.

    As CIO, Zeh will provide strategic vision and leadership in the development and implementation of solutions that provide business value, engaging customer experiences and effective management of technology risks. Zeh will oversee the company’s day-to-day information technology functions, working in support of marketing and merchandising, supply chain and in-store management retail applications.

    Having opened bookstores and with a planned entry into the drive-up grocery store space under construction in Seattle, the Internet giant is now considering opening convenience stores,  reported the Wall Street Journal.

  • Food Lion celebrates completed revamp of 142 Charlotte-area stores

    SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion on Tuesday announced that it would be unveiling a new shopping experience for its customers at 142 stores in the greater Charlotte area on Oct. 12. The company said it has invested $215 million this year to remodel stores, lower prices, hire hundreds of new associates and give back to local communities.
