  • UHC, Walgreens partner on Part D plan

    MINNETONKA, Minn. – UnitedHealthcare on Monday introduced its 2017 Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plans, building on its 2016 medical plan growth by featuring continued stability in its Medicare Advantage plans’ premiums and benefits as well as a new low-premium prescription drug plan introduced in collaboration with Walgreens.

  • Jean Coutu Group launches flu shot awareness campaign

    VARENNES, Quebec - The Jean Coutu Group on Tuesday launched a flu shot awareness campaign under the theme "Protect Your Health and That of Your Loved Ones." The campaign aims to support the public health effort for flu prevention by making the flu shot available in more than 300 stores in the Jean Coutu network throughout Quebec, in Ontario and New Brunswick.

  • WSJ: Target says the future is all about smaller stores

    Target is focused on opening smaller stores in urban areas and college towns as it battles declining traffic and sales at its fleet of mostly suburban stores, according to The Wall Street Journal.

    The newspaper quotes Target CEO Brian Cornell as saying that in the future the retailer could open "hundreds of these” smaller stores, which average around 20,000 square feet.

    DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens on Tuesday enticed its shoppers with a new loyalty program tied to its beauty department with the launch of Beauty Enthusiast, a beauty club within its Balance Rewards loyalty program. Cardholders who register for Beauty Enthusiast gain additional rewards on beauty and personal care items, as well as other benefits.

  • University of Rhode Island pharmacy students take home coveted 'Pepto Bowl'

    KINGSTON, R.I. — The University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy students Matt Lippertshauser and Ethan Melillo recently took home the "Pepto Bowl"  as part of the annual Student and Pharmacist Self-Care Championship, URI announced Tuesday.

    The pair represented URI in the “Jeopardy!”-style academic competition at the annual New England Pharmacy Convention Sept. 23. Their victory marks the third time in nine years that URI has won the contest, reported College of Pharmacy Clinical Professor Kelly Orr, but it didn't come easy.

    DALLAS - Walmart on Tuesday opened a senior care service in two Dallas locations. Honor, a leader in high-quality home care for older adults, announced it is launching its Dallas-Fort Worth service and inviting residents to learn more about "Honor Care at Home" at the mass merchant.
