  • CVS Health expands Curbside pick-up service to 4,000 locations

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. —  CVS Health will be offering curbside pickup through its partnership with Curbside at more than 4,000 locations beginning Monday, following a successful pilot launch across  San Francisco, Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, according to reports.

  • Study: Halloween spending breaks glass ceiling

    It’s no trick: Halloween spending is at an all-time high.
     
    As Americans continue to splurge on their favorite candy and costumes in preparation for the upcoming Halloween season, the National Retail Federation’s annual survey reported that spending is expected to reach $8.4 billion — the highest level in the study’s history.
     
  • Rite Aid Q2 revenues up 4.8% to $8 billion

    CAMP HILL, Pa. - Rite Aid on Thursday reported a revenues increase of 4.8% to $8 billion for its second quarter ended Aug. 27. The Pennsylvania chain also recorded net income of $14.8 million, or 1 cent per diluted share, adjusted net income of $35.5 million, or 3 cents per diluted share and adjusted EBITDA of $312.7 million, or 3.9% of revenues.

  • SNL alumnus Seth Meyers to headline NACDS Foundation Dinner

    ARLINGTON, Va. – Emmy-award-winning writer and Saturday Night Live alumnus Seth Meyers will headline the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation Dinner, which will be held on December 1, 2016, in New York, the association announced Wednesday.

    Meyers currently hosts "Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC." The New York Times recently referred to Meyers as the “smartest talk show host” of his generation.

  • Study: Shoppers willing to increase order to qualify for free shipping

    KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. and ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Forget apparel, electronics and gift cards. Free shipping is expected to be the most-coveted wish among many shoppers this holiday season.
     
    That’s according to the “The September 2016 Holiday Retail Report” from Radial and CFI Group, in which 91% of respondents said they would be willing to increase the size of their online order to qualify for free shipping.
     
  • Winning online focus for Kantar Retail annual eCommerce & Digital Strategy Forum

    BOSTON — Kantar Retail earlier this week announced that it will hold its annual eCommerce & Digital Strategy Forum in New York Oct. 5-6.

    In addition to featuring presentations from Kantar Retail's  Reid Greenberg, SVP digital and e-commerce, and Bryan Gildenberg, chief knowledge officer, the two-day event will include insights from Sri Rajagopalan, VP e-commerce at Johnson & Johnson, and Gary Vaynerchuk, CEO of VaynerMedia.

  • Albertsons looks to MyWebGrocer for click-and-collect, delivery at 5 banners

    BOISE, Id. — Albertsons announced this week that it would be partnering with e-commerce and digital marketing company MyWebGrocer to use software within its Digital Experience Platform to enable the company’s e-commerce strategy at some of its banners. 
     
    Five Albertsons banners — Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, United, ACME Market and Star Market — will be using MyWebGrocer’s solutions to ramp up the launch of their click-and-collect and delivery options.
