  • Walgreens teams with Greater Than AIDS on free HIV testing

    DEERFIELD, Ill. – In the lead up to National HIV Testing Day on June 27, Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS are teaming with health departments and local AIDS service organizations to offer free HIV testing and counseling about new prevention strategies, including Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis.

  • CDC: Despite extra month of flu, this season still mild compared to past three

    ATLANTA - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday noted that the 2015-2016 influenza season was lower in terms of influenza activity and peaked later as compared to the three previous seasons in the June 10 issue of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. 
     
    Activity remained low from October 2015 until late December 2015 and peaked in mid-March 2016. According to the report, only two other seasons have peaked in March in the past 18 influenza seasons - 2011–12 and 2005–06.

    CANTON, Miss. — In a move aimed at helping improve access to healthcare in the state, Fred’s is rolling out more TelehealthONE walk-in kiosks to locations across Mississippi. The first TelehealthONE kiosk was launched at a Fred’s location in Flora, Miss. in September 2015, and the next nine will hit the communities of Union, Pelahatchie, Carthage, Morton, Jackson, Pearl, Clinton, Lexington and Terry.
