  • Target's digital comp sales up 23% for first quarter

    MINNEAPOLIS - Target on Wednesday reported first quarter 2016 comparable sales growth of 1.2%, and adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations of $1.29, up 16.5% from $1.10 in 2015. 
     
  • Walgreens makes naloxone available throughout New Mexico

    DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens on Tuesday announced it has expanded the availability of naloxone to all of its New Mexico pharmacies, in accordance with state pharmacy regulations.
     
    Naloxone is now accessible in more than 70 Walgreens pharmacies throughout New Mexico. Previously, the medication was available without a physician’s prescription at Walgreens only in parts of the state. 
     
  • Ahold USA to host complimentary health screenings

    CARLISLE, Pa. - Ahold USA will be providing a day of free health education and services, including health screenings and vaccination reviews, across 83 locations this Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
     
    The complimentary screenings will be available at select locations across all of Ahold USA's banners, including Giant Pharmacy, Martin's and Stop & Shop. Ahold USA pharmacists will be on hand at each participating location to help facilitate the screenings. 
     
  • Target names new top merchant, creates chief digital officer role

    MINNEAPOLIS - Target on Tuesday announced the hire of Mark Tritton as EVP and chief merchandising officer. In this role, Tritton will oversee enterprise buying, product design and development, sourcing, visual merchandising strategy and merchandising transformation and operations for the retailer. 
     
  • Hip yogurt café coming to Target

    Target Corp. has lined up Greek yogurt giant Chobani to open an café in its upcoming store in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood.
     
  • Giant Eagle COO announces retirement

    PITTSBURGH – A career that began in 1974 as a Giant Eagle supermarket clerk will end on June 30, 2016 as one of the company’s most instrumental figures in recent decades, president and COO John Lucot, will retire after 42 years of service to the Pittsburgh-area grocer.
     
  • Report: Meijer to sponsor street hockey in parking lots

    Meijer is planning to turn 10 Michigan parking lots into destinations for summer street hockey for kids, according to the Associated Press. The big retailer says there will be an hour of instruction followed by a 30-minute game at 10 stores in July. (AP)
