    Albertsons, the nation’s second-largest traditional grocery retailer, has signed an agreement with Instacart, the on-demand grocery delivery service, that will allow the retailer to offer same-day deliveries in as little as an hour.

  • Wholly Guacamole brand introduces avocado dips, spreads

    The makers of the Wholly Guacamole Brand are expanding their list of products available to consumers, by launching a new line called Wholly Simply Avocado dips and spreads.

    Simply Avocado dips and spreads offer always ripe and great tasting avocados year-round without any mess, the company said. There will be a variety of five new flavors, two already launching in stores and three coming in the near future. The currently launched dips and spreads are:

    CVS Health’s pharmacy benefits manager will now offer real-time information about patient-specific medication costs, the company announced Tuesday. CVS Caremark will offer visibility of costs and lower-cost alternatives at point of prescribing and at the pharmacy in an effort to cut down on dispensing delays and improve patient outcomes, the Woonsocket, R.I.-based company said.

    Swedish cosmetics brand, IsaDora is making its debut in the U.S. market. The beauty company has partnered with Walgreens to launch a range of products, such as mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow and lipstick on the retailer's website.

  • Walgreens study finds results from pharmacy, specialty clinic collaboration

    A recent Walgreens Center for Health and Wellbeing Research study assessed a collaboration between Piedmont Healthcare’s Hepatitis C specialty clinic and a Walgreens local specialty pharmacy and showed that a high proportion (94%) of Hepatitis C patients who were prescribed direct-acting antiretrovirals were able to achieve the primary outcome goal, sustained virologic response, even though many patients had advanced liver disease, previous treatment failure or previous liver transplants.

As Andy McCann departs his position, the West Des Moines, Iowa-based chain has promoted Sheila Laing to the post from her position as chief human resources officer.
