    WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association on Monday announced the selection of the recipients of its 2017 Awards and Honors Program. The honorees will be officially recognized at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Francisco, which is slated for March 24-27, 2017.

  • Kroger, Walgreens executives recipients of NCA 2017 Confectionery Leadership Award

    WASHINGTON – The National Confectioners Association on Monday announced that Christina Groth from Kroger and Brian Rinker from Walgreens are the recipients of the 2017 Confectionery Leadership Awards. The award celebrates the honorees’ contributions to the category through their effective business collaboration, category management best practices, and innovations in merchandising confectionery products in-store.

  • French Transit acquires teeth whitening brand

    BURLINGAME, Calif. — French Transit acquired the Luster Premium White brand from Dentovations. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

     “The acquisition of Luster into French Transit represents a major turning point for the company by nearly doubling it in size as well as adding significant intellectual property and distribution,” said Peter Mann, chairman of French Transit. “The combined brands reinforce French Transit’s commitment to deliver best-in-class brands with the highest safety profile in their respective categories.” 

  • Albertsons Specialty Care gets ACHC accreditation

    BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons announced Thursday that its accreditation status for its Albertsons Specialty Care services has been approved Accreditation Commission for Health,  making it the largest national food and drug chain with this accreditation and an in-house specialty care service for pharmacy patients. 
     
    Albertsons said the accreditation would allow the company more industry adaptability, which it says translates to increased affordability for patients and accessibility of specialty care services. 
  • Kérastase introduces smart brush — hair care will never be the same

    LAS VEGAS — Kérastase in partnership with Withings on Tuesday announced the Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings — the world’s first-ever smart hairbrush. Developed in collaboration with L’Oréal’s Research and Innovation Technology Incubator, the brush features Withings’ advanced sensors and seamless product design along with L’Oréal’s patent-pending signal analysis algorithms to score the quality of hair and monitor the effects of different hair care routines.

  • Health Dialog's 'right person, right time' solutions earn Frost & Sullivan recognition

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Based on its recent analysis of the patient shared decision-making market, Frost & Sullivan on Tuesday recognized Rite Aid's Health Dialog with the 2016 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Leadership.
