  • KC Pharmaceuticals names store brand veteran to helm expansion drive

    POMONA, Calif. — KC Pharmaceuticals on Tuesday named Jim Medford to the role of president and CEO.

    With extensive industry leadership experience in the private label arena, Medford will direct the company's over-the-counter own brand eye care products.

  • Diplomat names new president, reports Q2 earnings

    FLINT, Mich. — Diplomat Pharmacy is transitioning into new leadership as it moves into the last half of its fiscal year. Alongside its Q2 earnings report, the company on Monday appointed Joel Saban president, effective Aug. 7, as Paul Urick departs the company to pursue other interests. Urick will stay on as president emeritus during a 90-day transition period.

  • Albertsons names former Sam’s Club CEO to senior advisor role

    BOISE, Idaho — One of the nation's leading supermarkets has tapped a retail and digital veteran to join its team.

    Albertsons appointed Kevin Turner, former COO at Microsoft, as vice chairman of the board of managers of AB Acquisition, its direct parent. Turner also has been named senior advisor to Albertsons chairman and CEO, Bob Miller.

  • Rexall names new president

    MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Canadian drug chain Rexall Drugstore has new leadership, McKesson Canada president Domenic Pilla announced Friday. Beth Newlands Campbell will take the helm of the chain, effective Aug. 8, bringing with her 27 years of experience with Delhaize America and her more recent work with Canadian food retailer Sobeys.
     
  • Dr Pepper Snapple Group shuffles leadership

    PLANO, Texas — Dr Pepper Snapple Group on Wednesday announced three leadership changes that it said were aimed at strengthening its leadership pipeline.

    The company added Jaxie Alt to its executive leadership team as EVP human resources. She was most recently SVP marketing, heading up brand marketing and activation for Dr Pepper and 7UP brands, as well as A&W and Sunkist, overseeing travel and events services, sponsorships, content and capabilities. She has been with DPS since 2001.

  • Costco chairman, founder Brotman passes away

    ISSAQUAH, Wash. — A retail legend has passed.
     
    The co-founder and chairman of Costco Wholesale Club, Jeff Brotman, 74, died Tuesday morning. He died in his sleep at his home and the cause of his death wasn’t immediately known.  
     
  • Mondelez International names new CEO

    DEERFIELD, ILL. — Mondelēz International has named a new CEO as current president Irene Rosenfeld steps down, effective in November. The company’s board has selected Dirk Van de Put as Rosenfeld’s successor. Rosenfeld will remain chairman until March 31, 2018, when she will retire and Van de Put will assume the role of chairman and CEO.

  • Publix cuts stock price as Q2 sales increase

    LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida's largest supermarket chain on Tuesday reported higher sales and revenues for its second quarter. Prior to releasing its results, the company cut the price of its stock.

    Publix’s sales in the second quarter rose 3.6% to $8.4 billion, from last year’s $8.1 billion. Same-store sales increased 1.6%.  

    Net earnings increased 3.5% to $495.1 million, compared to $478.2 million in the year-ago period.
