    BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Innovation will provide Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience to students enrolled in the Binghamton University School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences beginning with the fall class of 2017.

  • SoFi takes a look at best-value pharmacy schools

    SAN FRANCISCO — Lender and student loan refinancing company SoFi this week conducted a rundown of which pharmacy schools provide students the best bang for their buck by comparing which schools have the highest average salaries relative to their student debt, on average. It also looked at the pharmacy schools’ graduates have the highest average salaries and schools whose graduates have the highest amount of debt relative to their income. 
     
  • APhA calls for award submissions

    WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association Foundation is seeking nominations for its 2017 Pinnacle Awards. Established in 1998, the Pinnacle Awards honor significant contributions to health care quality via the medication use process.

    There are the three award categories in which nominations can be made:

  • MD Labs names $1K scholarship recipient

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Kim Nguyen of La Puente, Calif., was named a recipient of a $1,000 MD Labs/Rxight Scholarship Supporting Excellence in Pharmacy Studies.

  • NCPA endorses latest prescription transparency legislation

    WASHINGTON — Reps. Doug Collins, R-Ga., and Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa, on Thursday introduced H.R. 1316, the Prescription Drug Price Transparency Act, to protect taxpayers and the community pharmacists who serve them by requiring greater transparency from pharmacy benefit managers.

  • CVS selects electronic health record system for specialty care

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health on Thursday selected Epic as the electronic health record system for CVS Specialty’s care management programs.

    According to CVS, the transition to Epic will help integrate and improve clinical processes for CVS Specialty, including Accordant, which provides care management program services for patients with rare, chronic diseases. This announcement expands the Company's use of the Epic EHR system beyond MinuteClinic which transitioned to the system in 2015.

  • HRG outlines importance of front-end to pharmacy operations

    WAUKESHA, Wis. – Tom Boyer of Hamacher Resource Group has been invited to present a session about pharmacy layout, design and front-end merchandising principles to first-year students in the Pharmacy Practice program at Campbell University, in Buies Creek, N.C. on March 2, 2017, HRG announced Tuesday.

  • APhA names inaugural Ton Hoek Scholarship winner

    WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association named Valerie Nolt, PharmD, as the inaugural recipient of the Ton Hoek Scholarship.
