  • DSN, VaxServe launch immunization resource site for pharm techs

    As pharmacist-provided clinical services continue to expand, the role of the technician also is expanding. Immunization delivery is now an expected offering in most community pharmacies. To support the additional responsibilities of the technician, Drug Store News has partnered with VaxServe to develop a set of immunization resources specifically for pharmacy technicians.

  • Amber pharmacy tops Zitter Health Insights survey in satisfaction

    OMAHA, Neb. — Employees of Hy-Vee’s specialty pharmacy subsidiary, Amber Pharmacy, came out on top of a recent patient satisfaction survey conducted by Zitter Health Insights. After asking some 3,000 patients at 38 American specialty pharmacies, Amber Health’s nurses, pharmacy technicians and billing department earned scores of 100% and their customer service representatives scored 95%. 
     
  • Omnicell to acquire Ateb

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — In a move that will bring together two companies focused on medication adherence solutions, Omnicell announced Tuesday that it would be acquiring Ateb and its Canadian affiliate Ateb Canada.

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. —  Smith Drug Co. has named Jeff Schneider as its VP long-term care pharmacy solutions, the company announced Monday. As the head of the newly dedicated department, Schneider will be responsible for developing solutions for the new and existing long-term care customers. 
     
  • Fruth honors employees with 26th annual awards

    POINT PLEASANT, W.V. — Fruth Pharmacy recently honored its employees with its Annual Service Awards, marking the 26th year the company has celebrated its employees’ accomplishments and years of service. Awards were given out for Manager of the Year, Pharmacist of the Year, Pharmacy Technician of the Year and Associate of the Year. The company also honored employees for years of service in five-year increments.

    ARLINGTON, Va. – The Center for Disease Control and Prevention Foundation's Judy Monroe, president and CEO, will accept the 2016 NACDS Foundation Excellence in Patient Care Award at the NACDS Foundation Dinner on Dec. 1, 2016, in New York, the Foundation announced Monday.
