  • Novo Nordisk-organized cyclist team to tour Canada

    MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — An athletic team consisting entirely of people with diabetes will take part in several professional competitions and speaking events in Canada.

    Team Novo Nordisk, organized by the Danish drug maker, includes 17 professional bike riders from 10 countries, including winners and podium finishers from professional races. The team will take part in the Tour de Beauce in Quebec, with three cyclists, and will compete in BC Superweek in British Columbia, as well as other competitions around the country.

  • Harris Teeter to pitch food drive with MLB partner Washington Nationals

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In partnership with the Washington Nationals, Harris Teeter is hosting a food drive now through July 8, 2013 to support its local food bank partners, the supermarket retailer announced Monday. 

    In addition to donating food at local Harris Teeter stores, Nationals fans may bring non-perishable food items to Nationals Park on July 6 and 7 when the team faces the San Diego Padres. Volunteers will collect donations outside Center Field Gate from the time gates open through the fourth inning.

    CHICAGO — Arizona Beverages has teamed up with former NBA All-Star and champion Shaquille O'Neal to launch an all-natural cream soda line. Soda Shaq has hit the market in Arizona's single-serve 23.5oz. can from Rexam.

    Soda Shaq contains real vanilla from Madagascar, is sweetened with pure cane sugar and has just 90 calories per serving. Like all Arizona products, it is made with no artificial colors or preservatives and is available in Original Vanilla Cream, Orange Cream, Blueberry Cream and Strawberry Cream flavors.
