  • CVS/pharmacy raises $4.3M for ALS research in 10th annual fundraising campaign

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Country music star Ty Herndon and former NFL player Kevin Turner will join amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients Thursday evening at Fenway Park to celebrate the success of CVS/pharmacy’s annual in-store fundraising campaign to support the fight against ALS.

    The $4.3 million generated by this year's campaign brings the total amount raised by CVS/pharmacy colleagues and customers for ALS research to more than $27 million.

  • OPI, Serena Williams launch Glam Slam! U.S. nail lacquers

    LOS ANGELES — Tennis champion Serena Williams joined OPI co-founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann at a New York City event on Aug. 25 to officially launch the final series of nail lacquers in her Glam Slam! by OPI promotion, which kicked off earlier this year.

    The colors included in the Glam Slam! U.S. limited-edition duo-pack are a shimmering red named Love is a Racket and a glittering bronze titled Pros & Bronze.

  • Dulcolax races to fight colon cancer

    LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Temperatures eclipsed 90 degrees Fahrenheit for the second annual Jersey Shore Undy 5000 5-km race held here last month, where Team Dulcolax joined 665 people who turned out to support the colon cancer awareness-raising event. All told, participants generated more than $80,000 to help fight colon cancer. 


    A portion of the funds raised from the Jersey Shore Undy 5000 will be locally distributed to fund services for those diagnosed with colon cancer.


  • Kraft announces second annual Huddle to Fight Hunger initiative

    NORTHFIELD, Ill. — Kraft Foods once again is on a mission to donate meals to Feeding America through the company's second annual hunger relief campaign.

    Kraft, along with its brands, have commenced the second annual Huddle to Fight Hunger initiative, which encourages Americans to generate meal donations for Feeding America through several social media initiatives, including Facebook and Twitter. This year, Kraft is looking to donate 25 million meals, up 4 million meals from its 2010 efforts.

  • Goya celebrates milestone with concert sponsorship, food donation

    SECAUCUS, N.J. — Goya is celebrating its 75th anniversary by sponsoring a six-city concert series and will donate 75,000 lbs. of food to local charities.

    The charities will be selected by the concert performers, including Marc Anthony, Ana Gabriel and Marco Antonio Solis, Goya said. The donation is part of the Goya Gives campaign, a series of initiatives developed to celebrate Goya's anniversary in partnership with United Way.
