  • Dara Torres to serve as brand ambassador to Bengay

    SKILLMAN, N.J. — McNeil Consumer on Tuesday announced a partnership with 12-time Olympic medalist, best-selling author and mother Dara Torres, who will serve as a brand ambassador for the external analgesic Bengay.

    In that capacity, Torres also assisted in the launch of the brand's latest innovation, Bengay Cold Therapy, which uses the pain-relieving power of menthol and the cooling benefits of Pro-Cool technology to alleviate minor aches and pains.

  • The Greek Gods taps Dean Karnazes as spokesman

    MELVILLE, N.Y. — Yogurt brand The Greek Gods announced that it has brought on a new spokesman.

    "Ultra-marathon man" Dean Karnazes will represent the brand and promote its wellness benefits and great taste, the company said. Karnazes, an athlete, best-selling author and one of Time magazine's "Top 100 Most Influential People in the World," said he is a big fan of the whole-milk yogurt's "taste, texture and nutritional benefits."

  • Head & Shoulders taps Alyson Hannigan as latest brand ambassador

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble's Head & Shoulders has tapped Alyson Hannigan, star of CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" and "American Pie," to be the brand's female ambassador. Hannigan will appear in a campaign targeting female consumers starting this month.

    Hannigan joins Head & Shoulders hair legends, including two-time Super Bowl champion Troy Polamalu, and Minnesota Twins All-Star catcher Joe Mauer.

  • Clif Kid to host Backyard Game of the Year event in New York

    EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Clif Kid, maker of organic snacks for active kids, on Tuesday announced the finalists for its Backyard Game of the Year.

    Given that more kids play computer games than swim or ride a bike, Clif Kid asked kids across the country to reconnect with outdoor playtime by inventing the most creative backyard game.

    On Aug. 27, the five finalists will unveil their game at Madison Square Park in New York for the chance to win a $10,000 scholarship.

  • With help from spokesman, Stride adds Whitemint flavor to lineup

    EAST HANOVER, N.J. — Stride spokesman and sports icon Shaun White has helped the gum brand boost its portfolio with a new product.

    New Stride Whitemint marks the brand's first-ever custom-designed, custom-created pack, the company said, adding that White helped select the intense mint flavor and was involved in the creation of the gum's package graphics.

    As the brand's spokesman, White will participate in a Stride Whitemint TV ad spot this fall, as well as a variety of promotional activities related to the new gum.

  • Darryl Strawberry helps Duane Reade celebrate 50 years

    NEW YORK — Famed Mets baseball player Darryl Strawberry is expected to join the "One Shot At A Million" festivities today, which is part of Duane Reade's 50th anniversary celebration.

    The event will take place at Duane Reade at 40 Wall St. and Chase Manhattan Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • J&J to serve as global sponsor for 2014 FIFA World Cup

    NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Johnson & Johnson on Thursday announced that the company has entered into an agreement to become a global sponsor of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, becoming the eighth and final FIFA World Cup sponsor.

    With this sponsorship, Johnson & Johnson will be the exclusive and official healthcare sponsor, with the ability to promote across their consumer, medical devices and diagnostics, and pharmaceutical businesses.

  • Report: Schick looks to help men smell good with Xtreme3 Refresh

    NEW YORK — Schick, an Energizer Holdings brand, is launching a men's scented razor, the Xtreme3 Refresh, which will feature scratch-and-sniff packaging, according to a New York Times article.

    Schick worked with a fragrance company to create a freshly showered fragrance that has been described as blending notes of spearmint, citrus and rosemary, the article stated. The scent is embedded in the rubber part of the razor's handle.
