  • Meijer hosts 'Shop With a Hero' event

    ALPENA, Mich. — Meijer and local heroes, including area police, firefighters and athletes, came together this week to make the holidays brighter for thousands of children.

    Each holiday season, Meijer hosts “Shop with a Hero” events, which pair underprivileged children with area heroes to shop for holiday gifts for themselves and their families.

  • Nature's Truth introduces holiday gift sets to OTC aromatherapy planogram

    RONKONKOMA, N.Y. – Nature's Truth on Monday released a little "Holiday Cheer" through the launch of its limited edition, 100% pure plant-based essential oil and aromatherapy gift sets.

    “Holiday Cheer is the perfect scent to uplift the spirits this holiday season,”  noted Kimberly Vigliante, Nature's Truth SVP sales and marketing.  The limited edition aroma, Holiday Cheer, has an uplifting scent featuring a warm spice botanical blend of clove, cinnamon, orange sweet oil and lemongrass oil.

  • Cyber Monday brings in record haul

    Cyber Monday has made history — again.
     
    With shoppers spending $3.45 billion online on Cyber Monday, Nov. 28, a 12.1% jump year-over-year, sales not only surpassed predictions, but made this the largest Cyber Monday shopping event to date, according to Adobe Digital Insights, which aggregated data from 23 billion visits to retail websites.
     
  • NRF: Foot traffic up for Black Friday; shopper gains expected for Cyber Monday, too

    WASHINGTON – As many as 122 million Americans will be surfing for deals online at some point on Cyber Monday, the National Retail Federation reported Sunday.

    That's up from the 121 million who had planned to participate last year, according to NRF's Cyber Monday Expectations Survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics over the weekend.

  • Survey: Sales, coupons still biggest holiday sales drivers

    It still comes down to price. 
     
    Despite more modern approaches, 89% of consumers said that deep discounts (including coupons) are the key determinant of what stores they will visit for holiday shopping this year, according to a survey of millennial and Generation Z consumers conducted by HRC Retail Advisory.

  • Matrixx Initiatives releases latest Zicam cold buster

    BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -- Matrixx Initiatives announced Monday the launch of Zicam Cold Remedy Ultra Berry Lemonade Crystals, the latest addition to Zicam's cold shortening line-up.

    The new product  combines the power of zinc, which reduces the duration of the common cold, and elderberry, a popular immunity boosting ingredient.  

  • Bartell Drugs urges consumers to 'shop local'

    SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs is encouraging consumers to “Shop Local” with Bartells on Black Friday weekend by hosting a special event on Nov. 26.

    The retailer announced it will host a Shop Local event chain-wide, with special sampling events at some stores: vendor sampling at Bartells' Downtown store at Fifth and Olive streets and the Lower Queen Anne store.  Sampling as well as special giveaways and face-painting will be held at the Magnolia and Crossroads locations. Sampling at all four stores takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Target CIO talks deep discounts for Cyber Monday

    In a new post on Target's A Bullseye View blog, Target CIO Mike McNamara explains the reasoning behind the retailer's decision to offer an unprecedented Cyber Monday promotion: 15% off site-wide and store-wide from Nov. 27 to Nov. 28.

    McNamara says the retailer's move to combine stores and online for a more seamless holiday shopping experience marks a new chapter in Cyber Monday history.
