  • Retail CMOs predict 4.7% lift in holiday sales

    CHICAGO -- Steadily climbing consumer confidence and retail sales growth have U.S. retail CMOs feeling optimistic ahead of this holiday season.

    Respondents of BDO USA’s 11th annual Retail Compass Survey of CMOs predict a bullish 4.7% sales increase this holiday season, tied with the highest projection in the survey’s history. This is also more optimistic than the National Retail Federation’s expected 3.6% increase.

  • ShopRite launches fundraiser for Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital

    KEASBEY, N.J. -- ShopRite has launched a campaign to raise funds to benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

    From now through Nov. 26, ShopRite stores throughout Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties will collect donations at checkout and host in-store events, activities and fundraisers to support the hospital, which provides care to more than 20,000 critically ill infants and children each year.

    ATLANTA -- Family Dollar is joining other retailers in rallying around Boys & Girls Clubs of America this holiday season.

    Now through Dec. 31, Family Dollar will encourage their customers to give back to the non-profit. More than 4,200 Boys & Girls Clubs serve kids and teens across the United States.
