  • 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' to make Blu-ray, DVD, digital download debut

    LOS ANGELES — 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is bringing its film on the epic battle between man and ape home this December.

    "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" will be available Blu-ray, DVD and digital download. Starring James Franco, the film tells a story of a neuroscientist whose experiment on primates goes awry when the latter's intelligence continues to grow.

    The "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" Blu-ray includes such bonus material as deleted scenes, making-of featurettes commentaries and more. The film will make its debut on Dec. 13.

  • Minute Maid amps up beverage offering with new line

    HOUSTON — Minute Maid is shaking up the juice aisle with a new line of products that includes 100% orange juices and a light orange juice beverage.

    Minute Maid Pure Squeezed includes no pulp 100% orange juice, no pulp 100% orange juice with calcium and vitamin D, some pulp 100% orange juice and light orange juice beverage with calcium and vitamin D.

  • Arnold Palmer Hard makes market debut

    CHICAGO — A drink made popular by a famous golfer now is available as a malt beverage.

    Hornell Brewing Co., the parent company of AriZona Beverages, said it has launched Arnold Palmer Hard, a half-tea and half-lemonade drink that contains 5% alcohol by volume. The noncarbonated beverage is made with AriZona brand iced tea and lemonade and is packaged in a 24-oz. can.

  • Yankee Candle gets ready for winter with 2011 holiday collection

    SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. — Yankee Candle is encouraging consumers to embrace the winter months with its latest holiday candles.

    New to the Yankee Candle lineup are Cherries on Snow, Mountain Berry and Christmas Rose scents, which complement the brand's current line of holiday fragrances. All three candles are available in a large classic jar for a suggested retail price of $25.99.

  • Emerald expands Breakfast on the go! line

    SAN FRANCISCO — Emerald has added "fun packs" to its lineup of Breakfast on the go! nut and granola mixes.

    The "fun packs" line includes two flavors: berries and creme and chocolate peanut butter banana. Each "fun pack" contains 200 calories or less, the company said.

    Emerald said its Breakfast on the go! fun packs will hit store shelves this fall.

  • Rev7 hoping biodegradable gum will stick

    NEW YORK — A new gum brand may revolutionize the market by touting a biodegradable product.

    Rev7 gum utilizes parent company Revolymer's patented low adhesion technology, making Rev7 the world's only removable and degradable chewing gum, according to the company.

    Rev7 is available in a 10-pack and comes in natural peppermint and natural spearmint flavors. The gum also is sugar-free.

  • Passage to China introduces new cooking sauces

    COLLINSVILLE, Conn. — Passage Foods has expanded its Passage to China cooking sauces line with two new flavors.

    The Passage to China lineup now includes black bean stir-fry and honey, soy and garlic sauces. The sauces are all-natural, gluten-free, preservative-free recipes that contain fresh, natural ingredients and can be paired with both meat and vegetables, the company said.

    Passage Foods also produces such cooking sauces as Passage to Indian, Passage to Thailand and Passage to Morocco.

    FRESNO, Calif. — A new beverage designed to provide energy and protein has made its debut.

    Click espresso protein drink, available as a 14-serving powdered drink mix, offers 15 grams of high-quality protein and 23 essential vitamins and minerals packed into each serving, the company said. The drink can be served hot as a coffee substitute or cold as a gourmet frappe-style drink.
