  • Mars announces collaboration with Fairtrade International

    MT. OLIVE, N.J., and BONN, Del. — Mars Chocolate and Fairtrade International will introduce the first Fairtrade-labeled Mars product.

    As part of the collaboration, the first Mars product to carry the Fairtrade mark will be Maltesers, which will arrive in U.K. and Ireland stores in 2012. This initial phase of the agreement will contribute more than $1 million annually in Fairtrade premium funds for cocoa farmers to invest in their farms, business organizations and communities.

    HACKENSACK, N.J. — Napp Technologies has introduced its Soft & Shield moisturizing sanitizer.

    Soft & Shield is a nontoxic, scented moisturizing lotion that serves as an invisible protective glove over the hands. Soft & Shield provides at least four hours of protection and kills 99.99% of harmful germs and bacteria, Napp Technologies said.

  • Lay's becomes official chip of Winnipeg Jets

    WINNIPEG, Canada — PepsiCo Foods Canada announced that its Lay's brand is partnering with National Hockey League team, the Winnipeg Jets, in an exclusive five-year deal that runs until the end of the 2015-2016 NHL hockey season.

    As part of the partnership, Lay's now is the official potato chip of the Winnipeg Jets.

  • Ehrmann launches new yogurt line

    MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Ehrmann has introduced a line of all-natural Bavarian low-fat yogurt.

    Packaged in 5.3-oz. cups that feature a blend of creamy yogurt and real fruit, each variety of yogurt, including blackberry-pomegranate, blueberry, cherry, peach and strawberry flavors, contains 150 calories or less, 7 g of protein per serving with only 1.5 g of total fat, Ehrmann said.

    Ehrmann said that its all-natural Bavarian low-fat yogurt will be available at such retailers as Shaw's, Tops and more.

  • Pepsi's latest ad chock full of music artists

    PURCHASE, N.Y. — Pepsi unveiled its latest television ad, which celebrates the brand's rich music history, during the premiere of Fox's "The X Factor."

    The "Music Icons" spot, which features global icons Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Kanye West, Ray Charles and Mariah Carey, was in line with the concept of "The X Factor," which is to search for the next pop music star. The spot also featured the following slogan: "where there’s Pepsi, there’s music."

  • Yoplait expands fruit and yogurt smoothie line

    MINNEAPOLIS — Yoplait has introduced its latest fruit and yogurt smoothie flavor.

    Yoplait said its chocolate banana smoothie has joined the roster of four other flavors, including triple berry, strawberry banana, blueberry pomegranate and strawberry mango pineapple. The smoothie comes in a freezer package, which provides two 8-oz. servings and contains frozen fruit and real Yoplait yogurt.

    With 130 calories per serving, the new flavor is an ideal late afternoon snack or after-dinner treat, the company said.
