    CINCINNATI — In an effort to support its Children’s Safe Drinking Water program, Procter & Gamble is enlisting Facebook users to participate in the program's global efforts.

  • Jordan Stanley joins Ideavillage

    WAYNE, N.J. — A leader of the "As Seen on TV" consumer goods category has appointed a new EVP marketing.

    Ideavillage Products said Jordan Stanley, a former executive at Y&R Worldwide, will serve as EVP marketing for the company, overseeing the company’s marketing and new product positioning efforts, as well as manage its Direct Response TV initiatives under Ideavillage CEO Anand “Andy” Khubani.

  • Nonni's Foods acquires ThinAddictives brand

    CHICAGO — A biscotti maker now owns a Canada-based cookie brand.

    Nonni's Foods said it has acquired the ThinAddictives brand from V.I.S., which is known for its nameksake almond thins, along with its state-of-the-art baking facility in Ville St-Laurent, Quebec. The ThinAddictives brand includes cranberry almond, pistachio almond and chocolate almond flavors.

  • Kashi introduces four-cheese pizza

    LA JOLLA, Calif. — Kashi has added a new member to its line of frozen pizza.

    Kashi's new four cheese pizza combines provolone, mozzarella, white cheddar and fontina cheeses a vegetable sauce made from a combination of real tomatoes, onion, garlic and carrot juice concentrate and a crust made of Kashi 7 Whole Grains & Sesame with flax seed.

    Kashi four cheese pizza now is available in the frozen aisle of grocers and natural food retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $5.99.

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Peeps is embracing Valentine's Day with new Peeps marshmallow chicks.

    The Peeps chocolate dipped strawberry creme-flavored marshmallow chicks are available in a 3-count tray in both milk chocolate and dark chocolate.

    NEW YORK — Food manufacturers, take note: Consumers worldwide don't necessarily understand nutritional labels on packaging, according to a new Nielsen survey.

  • Local flavor: Meijer's Michigan stores to feature food products made in the state

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer's stores in Michigan will "prominently" feature 49 products made in the state as part of a program to promote local businesses, the mass merchandise retailer said.

    The chain is partnering with the Michigan State University Product Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources to launch the "Made in Michigan" initiative, whereby 33 stores will feature 49 such grocery items as marinara sauce, blueberry butter, gluten-free baking mixes and gourmet seasonings in specially designated areas of the store starting on Sunday.

  • Bossa Nova introduces reduced-calorie fruit beverages

    BLUE ASH, Ohio — Bossa Nova has introduced new organic superfruit beverages.

    The new juices touts 90 calories per 10-oz. bottle, the company said. The reduced-calorie juices will be available in organic acai original, organic acai blueberry, organic acai pomegranate and all-natural acerola red peach.
