  • Revolymer revs up the flavor in gum

    ATLANTA Revolymer is launching a new brand of gum that is eco-friendly and has long-lasting flavor.

    New Rev7 gum will be available in both peppermint and spearmint flavors, with additional flavors slated to launch next year. The gum, the company said, also can be readily removed from clothes using soap and water; and environment tests have shown that more than 50% of its chewing gum is removed by conventional street cleaning, and any gum washed into the drains will degrade into minerals, biodegradable products and inert materials.

  • Odwalla adds two flavors to bars line

    HALF MOON BAY, Calif. Odwalla is expanding its bars line with two new flavors.

    Odwalla's new chocolate peanut butter protein bar features 12 g of protein and contains calcium and vitamins E, B6 and B12, all delivered in a chocolate peanut butter decadence. The blueberry swirl superfood bar from Odwalla contains calcium, folate and vitamins A, C and E, and features the swirling flavor of blueberries with a bonanza of nutritious organic oats, dates and crisp rice, the company said.

     

  • Kmart gets smart, uses its senses with private-label line

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Kmart is introducing its private-label brand, Smart Sense, offering customers products for almost 20% less than the leading brand. The Smart Sense line currently consists of hundreds of products available in Kmart stores, and will expand to more than 1,200 items by early 2011.

  • New Matador beef jerky is flamin' hot

    MINONG, Wis. Jack Link's Matador brand is amplifying its meat snack lineup with a flamin' hot variety.

    New Matador flamin' hot stick combines Matador's original beef jerky with a hot and spicy kick, the company said. Within one year, the Matador brand has introduced three stick flavors and four jerky flavors.

    The new Matador flamin' hot stick is available in a 1-oz. package for $1.29.

  • Jelly Belly gets homegrown look for new product

    FAIRFIELD, Calif. Jelly Belly jelly bean seed packets will hit retail shelves this fall.

    The 1-oz. packages are available in watermelon and cherry varieties. The new product will begin shipping in November, and come in a 24-count caddy.
