    WATERBURY, Vt. & WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — BJ's members will now be able to brew the wholesale chain's brand of coffee with their Keurig coffee makers.

    A new partnership is making BJ's Wellsley Farms coffee available as single-use K-Cups, the two companies announced Monday.

  • PhRMA: 435 medicines in development targeting diabetes and other chronic conditions

    WASHINGTON — America’s biopharmaceutical research companies are developing 435 innovative new medicines to target 15 leading chronic conditions affecting the Medicare population, according to a new report released by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America last week.

    These medicines in development — all either in clinical trials or under review by the Food and Drug Administration — are diverse in scope. They include:

    HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate announced the introduction of a new Combos party bag to help usher in the summer. The 15-oz. bag is ideal for a range of activities — from family gatherings to road trips — according to the company. The party bags will be available in Cheddar Cheese Pretzel, Pizzeria Pretzel and Cheddar Cheese Cracker.

  • Novo Nordisk launches prefilled insulin device

    PLAINSBORO, N.J. — Novo Nordisk on Thursday announced the launch of Levemir FlexTouch (insulin detemir [rDNA origin] injection), a prefilled insulin delivery mechanism providing a new way for diabetics to administer their insulin.

    The device is the first and only prefilled insulin delivery system without a push-button extension, which helps to eliminate delivery challenges for the patient, according to the company.

  • QS/1 unveils ESI Rx History interface

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. — QS/1 is now offering the ESI Rx History interface, a medication reconciliation program allowing healthcare professionals to instantly retrieve a patient’s medication history.

    Once setup, the ESI Rx History interface will allow pharmacies to provide a patient’s medication history automatically through QS/1’s PowerLine. The information is stored on ESI’s repository of retail prescription claims and is electronically delivered by ESI in real time when requested at the patient’s point of care.

    SEA CLIFF, N.Y — A new flavor that company SexyPop Popcorn is debuting at this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show will make eating bananas a crunchier experience. The new flavor, Bodacious Banana, uses real bananas and gives the popcorn a dose of antioxidants and potassium.
