  • Starbucks announces partnership to bring Greek yogurt products to stores, grocery channels

    SEATTLE AND PARIS — Starbucks Coffee Co. and Danone, a producer of French dairy products, announced today a strategic partnership that will bring a line of healthy, specialty yogurt products to participating Starbucks stores and grocery channels. The companies stated the partnership will advance Danone’s ambition to expand yogurt consumption in the United States, while growing Starbucks health and wellness offerings for its customers under the company’s Evolution Fresh brand.

  • Britain's hairstylist Mark Hill makes U.S. debut with collection at Walgreens, Duane Reade

    NEW YORK and DEERFIELD, Ill. — Mark Hill Salon Professional products, created by hairstylist Mark Hill, is launching nationwide at Walgreens and Duane Reade this month. 

    The collection has attracted a following since its launch in the U.K. in 2004 exclusively with Boots health and beauty retail stores. The debut of Mark Hill Salon Professional products marks one of the nationwide product launches from Alliance Boots since the company formed a strategic partnership with Walgreens last summer.

  • Teva introduces psoriasis drug

    NORTH WALES, Pa. — Drug maker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries has introduced acitretin capsules, the company said.

    Teva announced the availability of the capsules in the 10-mg, 17.5-mg and 25-mg strengths, in bottle sizes of 30.

    The drug is a generic version of Soriatane and is used to treat psoriasis. Soriatane is made by Stiefel, a division of GlaxoSmithKline.

  • FDA approves Astellas drug for preventing kidney rejection

    NORTHBROOK, Ill. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a drug made by Japanese drug maker Astellas for preventing the body from rejecting transplanted organs, the company said.

    Astellas announced through a U.S. subsidiary that the FDA had approved Astagraf XLTM (tacrolimus) extended-release capsules for preventing rejection of transplanted kidneys, for use with Genentech's CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil) and corticosteroids, with or without Simulect (basiliximab), a biotech drug made by Swiss drug maker Novartis.

  • Ocean Spray serves up new citrus blends

    LAKEVILLE-MIDDLEBORO, Mass. — Ocean Spray announced today three new blends of fruit juice made with citrus: citrus tangerine orange, citrus mango pineapple and sparkling citrus tangerine.

    Ocean Spray’s new Citrus 100% Juice Blends taste good contain 100% Vitamin C, no added sugar and only 110 calories per 8-ounce serving.

  • Ardell introduces new lash collections for 2014

    NEW YORK — Beauty brand Ardell — a maker of faux eyelashes, brow cosmetics and accessories — is enhancing its collection of false lashes with a string of new launches slated for spring 2014.

    The new lashes include:

    Double Individual Lashes: Individual lashes are now twice as thick, featuring 20 strands per lash. They are available in three lengths — short, medium and long.

  • KareCo brings hair brush collection to mass market

  • Perrigo wins tentative FDA approval for generic Prandin

    ALLEGAN, Mich. – The Food and Drug Administration has given tentative approval to a generic diabetes drug.

    Perrigo Co. announced the tentative approval for repaglinide tablets, a generic version of Novo Nordisk's Prandin, used to treat Type 2 diabetes.
