  • Omnicell completes Ateb acquisition

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Omnicell on Wednesday announced that it had completed its acquisition of Ateb and its Canadian affiliate Ateb Canada. The company said the $41 million acquisition reinforces its commitment to improving patient care and outcomes by simplifying management of chronic conditions through increases access to adherence solutions.

  • Universal American pilots Rx network emphasizing pharmacist-practitioner collaboration

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Universal American announced Monday that the Accountable Care Coalition of the Tri-Counties, a Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO formed with primary care physicians in Charleston, S.C., will conduct a pilot with a network of independently-owned pharmacies. The pharmacies are part of Community PerformanceRx MSO, the first nationally-integrated pharmacy management services organization and a wholly owned subsidiary of PrescribeWellness.

  • QS/1 integrates with Appriss Health’s NARxCHECK

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. — In an effort to make reporting the dispensing of controlled substances easier for it pharmacy partners, QS/1 announced Monday that it had become the first pharmacy management software provider to offer integration with Apriss Health’s NARxCHECK. NARxCheck is a tool designed to fight prescription drug abuse by offering pharmacies real-time access to data collected by prescription drug monitoring programs.
     
  • Arete Pharmacy Network acquires RxPride

    PHOENIX  — Pharmacy services administrative organization Arete Pharmacy Network on Friday announced that it would be acquiring the PSAO RxPride from Minnesota-based pharmacy buying group Smart-Fill Management Group. 
     
  • J.M. Smith acquires Burlington Drug

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. — In a move that will Bolster J.M. Smith’s offerings in the Northeast, Burlington Drug Co. and some retail operations assets of Pharmacy Health Services will be joining J.M. Smith under a merger agreement, the companies announced Tuesday. Under the agreement, Burlington Drug and PHS ill operate as subsidiaries of J.M. Smith, with Burlington Drug continuing to manage all operations, customer service and sales functions out of its Milton, Vt. Headquarters. PHS will continue serving customers at their existing locations.  
     
  • PerceptiMed’s ScripClip looks to reduce will-call errors, improve efficiency

    When PerceptiMed was launched in 2011, its founder, neurosurgeon Dr. Alan Jacobs, set out to ensure that adverse medical events resulting from a patient receiving the wrong medication or wrong dose could be avoided. To do so, the Silicon Valley-based company worked to develop its proprietary VeriFill technology, which powers its IdentRx medication verification device and can read manufacturer imprints on the sides of every pill as a medication is dispensed.
