  • Smith Drug launches HealthWise Pharmacy solutions for independents

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Smith Drug Co. on Friday announced the launch of various services for independent pharmacies under the HealthWise Pharmacy umbrella. The offerings include a specialty-at-retail network, as well as clinical solutions, consulting services, long-term care (LTC) solutions, market intelligence, OTC merchandising and branding solutions and a predictive ordering solution. 
     
  • Loblaw locks down QHR, Canada's leading electronic medical records platform

    BRAMPTON, Ontario - Loblaw Companies and QHR on Thursday announced that Loblaw, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shoppers Drug Mart, has completed its acquisition of QHR for approximately $170 million, or $3.10 in cash per share.

    As a result of the arrangement, QHR is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of SDMI.

The system integrates into QS/1’s NRx Pharmacy Management System to make it easier for pharmacies to customize and automatically populate form information.

    LAKE FOREST, Ill. —  Kirby Lester on Thursday announced an updated to its flagship tablet counting devices, KL1 and KL1 Plus. The company will be showcasing the counters and its technology at the National Community Pharmacists Association Annual Convention from Oct. 16-18 in New Orleans, La. 
     
  • PDX partners with VoicePort to provide IVR with outbound patient notifications

    ROCHESTER, N.Y.  — Voiceport and PDX on Thursday announced the certification completion of Voiceport’s interactive voice response (IVR) with outbound patient notification for PDX EPS and PDX Classic pharmacy systems. VoicePort’s IVR with outbound patient notification is part of its Claro Pharmacy Solutions Suite, and PDX will be implementing it at the Rx.com Community Pharmacy at the company’s Fort Wort, Texas, headquarters.
