  • Half of aging adults want more strength, energy

    While Americans are redefining what it means to age well and stay healthy, many adults ages 50 years and older are still feeling the effects of aging. AARP and Abbott surveyed 1,480 Americans ages 50 years and older and found that while a majority see themselves as being in good health, 1-in-2 reported that they wished they had more strength or energy.

  • Focus on N.Y. market helps boost Ahold USA Q1 sales by 4%

    ZAANDAM, The Netherlands - Ahold USA first quarter sales were up 4% to $8.2 billion. Excluding gas, sales increased 4.1% at constant exchange rates. The addition of 25 A&P stores in the New York Metro market in the fourth quarter of 2015 was the main contributor to the overall sales growth and resulted in an overall market share improvement in both dollars and volume, Ahold reported.

  • Pfizer adds options for men, women to MultiGummies line

    MADISON, N.J. — Pfizer Consumer Healthcare earlier this year augmented its Centrum MultiGummies line with Men and Women formulations. MultiGummies are a chewable multivitamin formulated with more vitamin D3 than any of the leading men’s and women’s gummy multivitamin brands, according to the company. Sales of Centrum multivitamins are up significantly. For the 52 weeks ended April 17 across total U.S. multi-outlets, Centrum sales reached $77.4 million on 25.7% growth, according to recent IRI data.

  • Navy veteran assumes chief medical officer role at Little Clinic

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Little Clinic last week named Marc Watkins chief medical officer. Watkins formerly served as VP and medical director for the company.

    In his new role, Watkins will oversee the hundreds of board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants who staff the company’s nearly 200 locations, as well as provide strategic guidance on the continued growth of The Little Clinic within the retail healthcare sector.
