  • Rite Aid kicks off annual Children's Miracle Network fundraiser

    CAMP HILL, Pa. - Rite Aid's 22nd annual Miracle Balloon campaign for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is now underway, the company announced Monday. From now through April 30, Rite Aid customers can support their local children's hospital by purchasing $1 paper Miracle Balloons at any Rite Aid store. 
     
    To show appreciation, supporters will receive $7 in coupon offers for a variety of items sold at Rite Aid.
     
  • Ahold, Delhaize shareholders approve grocery merger

    AMSTERDAM -- Ahold shareholders have overwhelmingly approved the company`s proposal to merge with Delhaize Group.

    Ahold is buying Delhaize for $11 billion in a deal announced last year that will create one of the largest food retailers on the U.S. East Coast, as Ahold operates Stop & Shop and Delhaize operates Hannaford and Food Lion.

  • Visa takes swipe at mobile payment simplicity

    Add Visa Checkout to the list of solutions trying to make mobile payment as effort-free for the shopper as possible.

    Visa Inc. has unveiled a digital swipe product enhancement for Visa Checkout that allows customers to slide a virtual image of their payment card across the screen of a mobile device, including tablet or laptop. After swiping right (as is done on certain popular dating apps), the customer enters their password inside the button itself to authenticate.
