  • Inergetics to develop line of Cannibidiol based nutritional supplements

    NEWARK, N.J. — Inergetics on Tuesday announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with Terra Tech Corp, a fast-growing urban agricultural company, to jointly develop a line of natural cannibidiol-based nutritional supplements.

    The strategic partnership will combine Inergetics' expertise in successfully developing and marketing innovative nutritional supplements that help consumers lead better and healthier lives with Terra Tech's agricultural expertise and established distribution network of dispensaries in medical cannabis markets.

  • CRN elevates 'Duffy' MacKay to SVP

    WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition on Tuesday promoted Douglas “Duffy” MacKay to SVP scientific and regulatory affairs, effective immediately.   • Nielsen Holdings to complete Harris Interactive merger

    NEW YORK — Nielsen Holdings on Monday announced that it has completed the tender offer by Nielsen and its wholly owned subsidiary, Prime Acquisition Corp., to acquire all outstanding shares of common stock of Harris Interactive, a global market research firm. Nielsen expects to complete the acquisition of Harris through a merger under Delaware law. Upon the completion of the merger, Harris Interactive will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Nielsen and its shares will cease to be traded on the NASDAQ Stock Market.

  • NAD refers Brain Research Labs to FTC

    NEW YORK — The National Advertising Division has referred to the Federal Trade Commission advertising claims made by Brain Research Labs, for Procera AVH, following the company’s failure to abide by the terms of an NAD decision.

    In an underlying 2009 decision, NAD recommended that the advertiser discontinue a wide range of claims and testimonials for Procera AVH, including the unqualified claim that Procera AVH was “clinically shown to restore the memory and brain power you had 10-15 years ago" and claims that the product is “fast-acting.”

    DALLAS — MarketsandMarkets projects the nutraceutical ingredient market will grow from $23.8 billion in 2013 to $33.6 billion in 2018, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.2%, according to a report released Tuesday.
