  • CVS Health to host job fair to staff Pittsburgh-area call centers

    PITTSBURGH — Looking to fill more than 200 full-time positions, CVS Health on Friday announced a job fair here, set to take place in Monroeville, Pa., from 1-6 p.m. on Sept. 14. The positions are at the company’s Pittsburgh and Monroeville customer support inbound call centers.

  • Pharmaca to make its Chicagoland debut

    BOULDER, Colo. — Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy on Wednesday announced its expansion into the Chicagoland market with the acquisition of Aaron's Apothecary on Clark st. in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

    Pharmaca also announced the acquisition of Roxbury Pharmacy in Beverly Hills, Calif.

  • Former Wakefern exec becomes Stay Local Health COO

    NEW YORK — Jonathan Thacker, former VP pharmacy for Wakefern Food Corp., was recently named COO at Stay Local Health.

    Stay Local Health is dedicated to buying and operating independent pharmacies in a manner consistent with the pharmacies history. "We want to continue the business you built leveraging as much of your teams time and talent as they desire," the company stated.

  • Second class of PQA-CVS Health Foundation Scholars announced

    ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Pharmacy Quality Alliance and the CVS Health Foundation have announced the 2017-2018 PQA-CVS Health Foundation Scholars as the program enters its  second year. The program is aimed at fostering student engagement in performance measurement and quality improvement. 
     
  • APhA provides new pharmacist leadership opportunities

    WASHINGTON — The American Pharmacists Association on Thursday announced a new Leadership360 Institute that provides pharmacists with opportunities to reach full leadership potential while developing management skills necessary across pharmacy settings.

    Institute participants can take part in any or all of the three Leadership tracks including: Lead360, Mentor360, and Manage360. Each track will offer programs to help pharmacists excel in their individual growth, purposeful development and interactions with others.

  • Cardinal Health 2017 Ken Wurster Award winner ‘leads by example’

    During the opening-day evening activities at Cardinal Health RBC 2017, the spotlight was on Pedro Vanga, owner of Super Farmacia Vanga Inc. in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Vanga was honored with the 2017 Ken Wurster Community Leadership Award — accepting a $10,000 donation from Cardinal Health on his behalf to local organization, Iniciativa Comunitaria.
