  • Women in Pharmacy, RxOwnership push for new owners

    At McKesson ideaShare 2017, McKesson RxOwnership launched the inaugural Women in Pharmacy Own It Program. The event featured a morning get-together over coffee; a panel of successful female Health Mart owners that included Teresa Orlando, owner of Dunes Family Pharmacy; Pam Marquess, owner East Marietta Drug Company; and Ellie Darj, owner Chevy Chase Care Pharmacy. Tammy McDonald, VP RxOwnership, and Crystal Lennartz, chief pharmacist Health Mart also participated in the panel and networking session that followed.

    ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The NCPA Innovation Center today announced three mental health first aid training scholarships winners.

  • Walgreens relocates pharmacy operations support center to Chandler, Ariz.

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens on Tuesday announced the relocation of its Tempe pharmacy operations support center.  The current facility in Tempe will remain open as a pharmacy mail services support facility to allow for future growth.
     

  • NASP adds Walgreens, Pfizer and AstraZeneca execs to board

    WASHINGTON — The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy has added three new members to its board of directors. The organization brought on Walgreens VP federal government relations and U.S. public policy Ed Kaleta; Pfizer's regional president North America for rare disease Tolga Tangular; and AstraZeneca’s executive director of access services Blaine Squires.

    SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Independent Pharmacy Cooperative on Monday named Blende Drug of Pueblo, Colo. and its owner John Cernac as the group's Most Valuable Pharmacy for 2017.
