  • Head & Shoulders names Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson as newest MLB 'Mane Man'

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble’s Head & Shoulders, the official shampoo of Major League Baseball, has announced that All-Star pitcher C.J. Wilson of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim is the newest athlete to join the brand’s “Mane Man” ambassador team, a roster that includes Troy Polamalu and Brett Keisel of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Olympian Michael Phelps.

  • Quaker promotes healthy living with NFL contest

    CHICAGO — The winner of a contest sponsored by the Quaker Oats Co. will appear with an NFL rookie quarterback in an event sponsored by the company to promote healthy living.

    Quaker, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, said 10-year-old Hunter Paulin would join the Indianapolis Colts' Andrew Luck at the Kids Day at NFL Experience Driven by GMC, where Luck will introduce him to kids from the New Orleans area during a Quaker Oatmeal breakfast event before they run football drills. Luck and Paulin will encourage kids to eat healthy, stay active and serve as role models for healthy living.

  • Safeway, ExxonMobil partner on new loyalty card offer

    PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway and ExxonMobil on Wednesday announced a new loyalty program that will award customers in the Mid-Atlantic region Reward Points, redeemable at any ExxonMobil station, for products purchased at Safeway.  

    According to a recent Safeway survey, one-third of families go out of their way to look for deals because saving money is important to them. Nearly three out of four people will drive out of their way to purchase more affordable gas, and 76% of consumers said they would change where they grocery shop and purchase gas to save money. 

  • Ben & Jerry's celebrates '30 Rock' finale with new flavor

    BURLINGTON, Vt. — Ben & Jerry's ice cream has announced it will reveal a new flavor aimed at celebrating the NBC series "30 Rock," which airs its series finale on Jan. 31. The flavor will be unveiled by co-founder Jerry Greenfield at a New York City finale party, steps from the namesake building at Rockefeller Center. Invitees will gather to view the series finale of the show and sample the new "30 Rock"-themed concoction

  • Popchips to launch Katy Perry-inspired flavor

    SAN FRANCISCO — Pop singer Katy Perry will leave her mark on the newest flavor from snack brand Popchips, the company said Friday.

    Popchips said it would launch Katy's Kettle Corn, described as sweet and salty, at Target stores this month. Perry joined the company in July 2012 as an investor and creative partner and expressed an interest in creating a signature flavor of the snack.

    Walgreens and Televisa Consumer Products announced an expansion of their distribution across Walgreens with the inclination to share additional insights into the Hispanic community. Televisa's product portfolio spans from beauty items in haircare and skincare to OTC solutions in the cough/cold and pain relief categories. 

  • Jelly Belly unveils Disney-themed jelly beans

    FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Jelly Belly Candy Co. is launching a series of Disney-themed jelly beans, the company said.

    The jelly beans are available in 2.8-oz. bags featuring characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy.

    MINNETOKA, Minn — AllWhites egg whites and Better'n Eggs egg substitute from Crystal Farms have been endorsed by Weight Watchers, the company announced. Both products received a 0 PointsPlus value per serving.

     

    With Weight Watchers, every food has a PointsPlus value that takes into account the food's protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber. Based on Weight Watchers' calculation, AllWhites and Better'n Eggs have 0 PointsPlus value per serving.
