  • Limited-edition Jones Soda collection features So So Happy characters

    SEATTLE — Jones Soda has partnered with a lifestyle brand to create a collection of limited-edition glass bottles.

    In their limited-edition collection, Jones Soda and So So Happy teamed up to roll out four 12-oz. glass bottles that are adorned with four So So Happy characters. The bottles will be sold as four-packs and include one bottle of each flavor with accompanying So So Happy images on the label.

  • Food Lion expands reach in South Carolina with six new stores

    SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion unveiled on Wednesday six new stores in the Greenville, S.C., area market.

    The stores, located in Anderson, Greenville, Greer, Seneca and Simpsonville, replace former Bloom locations. As part of the transition to Food Lion stores, the newly opened supermarkets will carry a variety of natural and organic products, as well as fresh seafood, produce and other specialty items, Food Lion SVP James Egan said.

    NEW YORK — Famed Mets baseball player Darryl Strawberry is expected to join the "One Shot At A Million" festivities today, which is part of Duane Reade's 50th anniversary celebration.

    The event will take place at Duane Reade at 40 Wall St. and Chase Manhattan Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Canada Safeway last month quietly launched a new loyalty program called the SafewayClub Elite Customer, according to published reports. Shoppers who qualify with a $125 weekly grocery bill can choose among a number of perks, including a nickel-per-liter discount off gasoline, 10% off roses and deli sandwiches, and cash back up to $300.

    CINCINNATI — Following a European launch in 2009, Braun, a member of the P&G beauty and grooming family of brands, has announced the availability of the Braun Satin Hair brush in the United States.

    Braun Satin Hair brush makes its exclusive debut in the United States on QVC on July 12. The brush has a suggested retail price of $65.

    The battery-operated Braun Satin Hair brush combines Braun's Active Ion Technology, ­ which promises to give hair smoothness and shine, ­ with its Seamless Bristle Technology.

    BALTIMORE — In an effort to reach a new generation of women, several iconic beauty brands are being re-energized and revamped for today’s modern beauty maven. 


    One such brand is Calgon, which is managed by Ilex Consumer Products Group and known for its “Take Me Away” slogan. Calgon has unveiled two new collections — Ageless Bath and Sensual Collection — that hit shelves in June.
