  • Athletes join Team Fruity and Team Cocoa

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — As part of a competition between Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles to see which cereal is more popular with fans, Post Foods announced two professional American soccer players to grace its cereal boxes. Omar Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Galaxy will join WWE star John Cena on Team Fruity, while Olympic gold medalist and forward of the Portland Thorns, Alex Morgan, will join basketball star Kyrie Irving on Team Cocoa.

    INDIANAPOLIS — Dollar General on Wednesday announced it will serve as primary sponsor for the Schmidt Peterson Motorsports entry driven by 1995 Indianapolis 500 winner Jacques Villeneuve in the 98th running of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” on Sunday, May 25.

    LINDON, Utah — There is no one who is saying KT Health's KT Tape helped the UConn Huskies to an NCAA championship, but at least one of the players was seen sporting the product after the game, according to KT Health. KT Tape, the company’s flagship product, is used by professional and recreational athletes to prevent injury, reduce pain, promote recovery and maximize comfort.  

    KT Tape is an elastic therapeutic tape used for treating sports injuries and a variety of other disorders that was made popular by Olympic athletes in 2012.

    BOSTON — Procter & Gamble’s Gillette Body has teamed up with three Body athlete ambassadors to help promote its new Gillette Body razor and share tips and tricks for achieving peak performance — internationally renowned skateboarder Ryan Sheckler, multiple world champion and Olympic gold medalist in beach volleyball Phil Dalhausser, and CrossFit champ Jason Khalipa.

    In addition, consumers could have an opportunity to participate in an ultimate #BODYREADY personal training day with each athlete.

    NEW YORK — Maybelline New York has tapped Dutch model Marloes Horst to be its newest face for the brand, joining a roster of prominent spokeswomen including Christy Turlington, Emily DiDonato and a host of others.

    She will make her Maybelline New York debut in print and television advertising campaigns in April.

  • Amp Energy, Dale Earnhardt Jr. debut new flavor

    PURCHASE, N.Y. — Amp Energy, an energy drink from PepsiCo, announced a partnership with racing star Dale Earnhardt Jr. to produce a new sour grape flavor. The beverage, called Dale Jr. Sour, will be available for a limited time at select 7-Eleven stores across the country starting April 2.
