  • Giant Food Stores and Martin's Food Markets generate $25 million in charitable giving

    CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold's Giant Food Stores and Martin's Food Markets on Wednesday announced that charitable donations made in 2013 from customers, associates and vendor partners totaled $25.1 million. Donations supporting hunger relief, improving the lives of children, and building healthier communities were made through a combination of cash and product, the supermarket operator reported.

    DUBLIN, Ohio — A recent audience-research study conducted by Nielsen found that among Cardinal Health's digital advertising network for retail pharmacies, called Pharmacy Health Network, half of viewers surveyed (49%) indicated that they felt encouraged to discuss a product or brand they had seen on Pharmacy Health Network with their pharmacist, and 48% indicated that after seeing ads on Pharmacy Health Network, they felt motivated to discuss those products or brands with their physicians.

  • Bayer HealthCare launches new flea and tick treatments

    ORLANDO, Fla. — Bayer HealthCare LLC Animal Health division on Wednesday launched eight flea and tick treatments and control solutions, which are to be sold at pet specialty retail stores. The announcement was made at Global Pet Expo, the pet industry's largest annual trade show.

    Four of the new products — Advantage Treatment Spray for dogs, Advantage Treatment Spray for cats, Advantage Treatment Shampoo for dogs and Advantage Treatment Shampoo for cats — aim to give pet owners an array of options for pest treatment.
