  • CVS Health poll: Voters satisfied with healthcare providers, but cost and access are challenges

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- As many as 82% of voters say they are somewhat or highly satisfied with the care they receive from health care providers, and nearly three quarters of respondents report that they are satisfied with their health care coverage, CVS Health reported Wednesday, citing a public opinion poll conducted by the pharmacy leader in November 2016 with more than 1,800 registered voters.

  • CVS to open first standalone Colorado location

    DENVER — CVS Health plans to open its first standalone CVS Pharmacy in Colorado in 2017, spokeswoman Stephanie Cunha confirmed to the Denver Post.

    No other details were available, but the news outlet reported the location will be in Denver, likely on a 1.1-acre parcel. Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS owns at West 38th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Denver’s West Highland neighborhood.

    CVS entered Colorado for the first time earlier this year via its acquisition of Target in-store pharmacies.

  • CVS Pharmacy, OptumRx partner for new network pharmacy solution

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. and CHICAGO — CVS Pharmacy and OptumRx are joining forces to utilize complementary capabilities in an effort to provide greater convenience and value to clients and consumers.

    Combined, CVS Pharmacy, the retail division of CVS Health and OptumRx, UnitedHealth Group’s free-standing pharmacy care services business, will offer employers a new pharmacy network solution that:

  • CVS offers new incentive for ExtraCare members during Thanksgiving weekend

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Pharmacy hopes to make consumers even more thankful this Thanksgiving. The company will kick off its three-day Black Friday event for its ExtraCare rewards members beginning Thanksgiving.

    For the first time, CVS will provide ExtraCare members with $20 in “Christmas Bucks” when ExtraCare members spend $50 on select seasonal merchandise. To earn these rewards, customers must purchase from participating products such as home décor, tree trimming items, ribbons and bows.

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A partnership between CVS Pharmacy and Unilever is showcasing the ways in which beauty plays a key role in the health and wellness aisle.

    That connection between beauty and health/wellness has provided the groundwork for these companies to collaborate on an initiative that promoted three Unilever skin care lines that are primarily beauty brands but also have strong health and wellness claims.

  • CVS, YMCA partnership curbs new cases

    CVS Health in September partnered with the YMCA to help expand its Diabetes Prevention Program.

    The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a group-based lifestyle intervention for adults at high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Through a 12-month, evidence-based plan, the program has been successful in reducing the number of new cases of diabetes by 58% overall and by 71% in adults older than 60 years.
