    Although 164 million adults are daily consumers of caffeinated products, only 8% of adults regularly purchase energy shots, the company noted. As many as 47% of energy shot users report their consumption would increase if there was a natural alternative. 

  • QS/1, iMedicare form deal to help patients find Medicare plans

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Healthcare automation services company QS/1 has a deal with the maker of an iPad app for Medicare patients to help users search for and compare health plans.

    QS/1 announced the partnership with iMedicare to help pharmacies serve the country's growing number of Medicare patients.

    "Using government resources, comparing plans can take up to 40 minutes," iMedicare CEO Flaviu Simihaian said. "When integrated with QS/1's Pharmacy Management System, iMedicare can do that comparison in a matter of seconds."

  • Arizona partners with NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal for new soda line

    CHICAGO — Arizona Beverages has teamed up with former NBA All-Star and champion Shaquille O'Neal to launch an all-natural cream soda line. Soda Shaq has hit the market in Arizona's single-serve 23.5oz. can from Rexam.

    Soda Shaq contains real vanilla from Madagascar, is sweetened with pure cane sugar and has just 90 calories per serving. Like all Arizona products, it is made with no artificial colors or preservatives and is available in Original Vanilla Cream, Orange Cream, Blueberry Cream and Strawberry Cream flavors.

  • Mirixa, PDX to integrate MTM, automation platforms

    FORT WORTH, Texas — Mirixa Corp. will integrate its web-based medication therapy management platform with PDX's pharmacy-automation system, under a deal between the two companies.

    Mirixa and PDX said the deal would integrate MirixaPro with the PDX Classic Pharmacy System and the PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System.
