  • Veru’s new female condom measures up

    The Female Health Company, now known as Veru Healthcare following its merger with Aspen Park Pharmaceuticals, earlier this year introduced its Female Condom, FC2, at both Walgreens and Kinney Drugs, and the company is preparing a significant launch into the retail pharmacy space in the new year.

  • AZO launches new defense against UTIs

    CROMWELL, Conn. — I-Health launched a new product women can use to fight urinary tract infections. AZO Urinary Tract Defense features the only antibacterial UTI ingredient available without a prescription to help defend against the progression of an infection until a doctor can be consulted. The tablets also offer general pain relief to alleviate discomfort, the company noted. The new offering could be a boost to a slightly declining category. Sales of vaginal treatments were down 0.8% to $288.4 million for the 52 weeks ended Oct. 2 across total U.S. multi-outlets, IRI reported.

  • Estee Lauder to buy millennial-fave beauty brand for $1.45B

    NEW YORK -- Estee Lauder has agreed to buy California-based beauty company Too Faced for $1.45 billion, scooping up a brand that’s popular with millennials.

    Too Faced products are sold at self-serve beauty retailers such as Sephora and Ulta Beauty and have a loyal following on social media. 

    The deal is the latest in a series of beauty mergers this year.

    In October Coty acquired more than 40 of Procter & Gamble Co.’s beauty brands. And Revlon agreed to acquire Elizabeth Arden in June for about $419 million.

  • e.l.f. Beauty is expanding in New York City

    OAKLAND, Calif. -- e.l.f. Beauty is expanding its footprint in the New York City area with a new store north of Union Square.

    The 520-square-foot store is located at TurnStyle, the underground marketplace located below Columbus Circle at Eighth Avenue, between 57th and 58th Streets.
