    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Danica McKellar, well known as Winnie Cooper on “The Wonder Years” and Elsie Snuffin on “The West Wing,” headlined the NACDS Annual Hallmark Luncheon here on Tuesday. In addition to photo opportunities with McKellar, Hallmark's lunch guests met the company's master artists.

  • NACDS Foundation awards $230K in scholarships and grants

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation awarded $230,000 in scholarships and grants through its 2017 NACDS Foundation Scholarship Program. The recipients were presented with their awards Monday night at an NACDS Foundation event during the NACDS Annual Meeting.

  • Genoa: Integrated model improves adherence

    Genoa CEO John Figueroa has been in the business for 26 years, but he told Drug Store News that the pharmacy chain’s business model is “the most exciting model I’ve ever been a part of.” Genoa’s integrated care model — which centers on pharmacies on-site at community mental health centers — has him excited for several reasons, among them the company’s growth in the past year and the interest that payers have begun to show in the adherence boost exhibited by patients served by Genoa pharmacies.

  • CVS’ Merlo to deliver University of Pittsburgh commencement address

    PITTSBURGH — Larry J. Merlo, president and CEO of CVS Health, will be the featured speaker for the University of Pittsburgh’s graduate student commencement convocation at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. Merlo, a Pitt alumnus and University trustee, was named Pitt’s 2016 Distinguished Alumni Fellow, the University’s premier alumni honor, which recognizes extraordinary professional achievements. In 2010, he received Pitt School of Pharmacy’s Distinguished Alumni Award, and in 2008 was named a Legacy Laureate.

     SAN ANTONIO — H‑E‑B on Wednesday laid its claim as the largest privately held employer in the state of Texas and one of the largest privately held retailers in the nation with more than 100,000 employees. H‑E‑B employs more than 90,000 partners in 332 Texas stores and more than 10,000 partners in 56 stores throughout Mexico.
