  • Advil named 'Official Pain Reliever of the NHL'

    NEW YORK — Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and the National Hockey League on Monday announced Advil as the Official Partner and the Official Pain Reliever of the NHL and the 30 NHL athletic trainers in North America for the 2013-14 season. Under the agreement, Advil is also an Official Partner and the Official Pain Reliever of the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic and the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series.

  • Harris Teeter to present $75,000 donation to Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Saturday, Harris Teeter will make a $75,000 donation to Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina at the start of the Andrew Roby’s annual “Pitchin' for Wishes” Cornhole Tournament at Freedom Park, the grocer announced. The money was raised through Harris Teeter vendors who will participate in a cornhole tournament hosted by Harris Teeter on Friday. 

    The winners of the Harris Teeter cornhole tournament will also participate in the “Pitchin’ for Wishes” tournament.

  • Kroger raises $3 million in support of local breast cancer initiatives

    CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday announced it has committed $3 million in donations for local breast cancer initiatives across the country to support National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. 

    This will be the seventh year since Kroger began the Giving Hope a Hand initiative. By the end of 2013, Kroger will have donated more than $24 million to support breast cancer research, education and services since 2006, the grocer reported.
