    SOLON, Ohio and SAN FRANCISCO — Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing has acquired a technology company that has been changing how retailers discover new suppliers.

    The company on Tuesday announced the acquisition of RangeMe, which streamlines new product discovery in a way that ECRM said will complement the foundation it has laid in helping buyers discover new products and improve category planning effectiveness.

  • Packaged Facts: Pet owners shopping, spending more online

    ROCKVILLE, Md. — Online retailing is changing the game for pet parents.

    Specifically, 40% of pet owners are opting to buy pet products online, up from 37% the previous year, and notably higher than results from 2014, according to U.S. Pet Market Outlook, 2017-2018. The report, from research firm Packaged Facts, highlights mergers and acquisitions, retail channel trends, and pet owner demographics and spending habits.

    CINCINNATI — Baby laundry detergent brand Dreft has announced the latest addition to its offerings. The company on Thursday launched Dreft purtouch, a 65% plant-based hypoallergenic baby detergent, which it says is made with naturally derived ingredients.
