  • Braun officially unveils CoolTec electric shaver

    CINCINNATI — Braun, a member of the Procter & Gamble Beauty and Grooming family of brands, has introduced its latest shaving innovation, the CoolTec electric shaver.

    While most electric shavers allow heat to build up uncomfortably in the shaver head, CoolTec was engineered with an aluminium cooling bar that continuously removes heat from the shaver head. The shaver’s design elements ensure a noticeable reduction in the signs of dry shaving irritation, including burning, itching, redness, skin tension and warmth, the company stated.

  • Beauty.com to carry exclusive line of Erickson Beamon hair accessories for charity

    BELLEVUE, Wash. and NEW YORK — Beauty.com, a division of DrugStore.com, is offering an exclusive series of bejeweled hair accessories from designers at Erickson Beamon to benefit GEMS, or Girls Educational and Mentoring Services, the online retailer announced.

    One hundred percent of the proceeds from sales will go to this organization devoted to supporting victims of human trafficking. The four limited-edition designs are available while supplies last.

    LOS ANGELES — Hair removal brand Nad’s has announced that its Nose Wax system, which launched last year, is now available at Walmart.com.

    In addition, a full selection of 11 of Nad’s hair removal products are available at the Walmart.com site, including the original all-natural hair removal gel kit, the Facial Wand Eyebrow Shaper, a selection of on-the-go hair removal strips for face and body, the Brazilian and Bikini Kit, and hair removal creams.

  • TRESemmé develops Keratin Smooth, Platinum Strength hair care collections

    NEW YORK — Hair care brand TRESemmé has expanded its portfolio with the new Platinum Strength and Keratin Smooth collections.

    The new TRESemmé Platinum Strength Collection is a line of hair care products developed to fortify and strengthen hair, repairing up to two years of damage in five uses, the company stated. The collection includes Platinum Strength Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner, Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment and Strengthening Heat Protect Spray.

    CHICAGO — Balding men will give up just about anything to get their hair back, according to a recent survey out of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery — including that monster 60-in. LCD HDTV bought for this year's airing of the 49ers versus the Ravens. Of the 2,338 men with male pattern hair loss polled, more than 56% said they would be willing to give up something they owned in exchange for more hair. But they might not have to go as far as getting surgery with the launch of Lifes2good Natural Healthcare's Viviscal Man.
